Lasco Distributors Heads Nov 2011 Contracts List

Topping the November 2011 list of Government contracts awarded by the National Contracts Commission is Lasco Distributors Ltd for the procurement of pharmaceuticals for the period November 1, 2011 to October 31, 2013. The contract, awarded and funded by the National health Fund, is valued at J$763,004,562.14.

Weighing in second on the monetary scale for contracts awarded in November is Stanley Consultants Inc. They were awarded the contract for the provision of feasibility study and preliminary design for the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project (Segment 1: Port Antonio to Harbour View and Segment 2: Mandeville to Negril) under the Transportation Infrastructure Rehabilitation Programme. The US$3,000,000.00 contract was awarded by National Works Agency will be funded by the Inter American development Bank.

Finishing third in the contract awarded value is Aurobuindo Pharma Limited who received the contract for the procurement of Antiretroviral Drugs for the National HIV/STI Programme. The contract, valued at J$210,973,848.24, was awarded by the Ministry of Health and financed by the Global Fund.

NSWMA Tops Tenders for October

The National Solid Waste Management Authority topped October’s list for the highest valued contract awarded by the National Contracts Commission. The $340,000,000.00 contract is for the provision of project managerial oversight for the bushing and drain cleaning activities along the Northern Coastal Highway. The contract was awarded by the National Works Agency and will be funded by the Inter-American Development Bank.

H.D.B. Construction Limited landed the second highest contract awarded in October, weighing in at $175,362,771.40 on the monetary scale. This contract was awarded by the University of Technology for the expansion to the existing School of Hospitality & Tourism Management building at UTECH’s Old Hope Road Campus. The Government of Jamaica is funding this contact.

Rounding out the top three highest contracts awarded was Stewart's Auto Sales Limited with a $145,002,656.71 contract for the emergency procurement of motor vehicles for the Jamaica Constabulary Force. The Government of Jamaica is funding this contact.
